“At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, Who then is greater in the kingdom of Heaven? And Jesus called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them, and said, Truly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of Heaven. Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is greater in the kingdom of Heaven.” Matthew 18:1-4
I awoke today with a thought of just how simple it should be for people to believe the Gospel. Irregardless of what might be taught by the ‘professionals’ throughout the world, I wondered why no one questions the fact that the world is not yet overpopulated.
A quick Google search and I found that supposedly mankind is six million years old, the current evolved form of mankind (I guess that would be us) is around 200,000 years old, civilization as we know it is around 6,000 years old and the industrial revolution started in the 1800’s. In and of itself that evolutionary statement of disbelief aligns itself with the Word of God in that the world is around 6,000 years old, so I agree with the civilization portion, any book would quickly verify the industrial revolution. But according to mankind, the current form of humans is 200,000 years old, why isn’t the population of the world too many people?
In 2000 years, according to those who do such research, the population has went from somewhere between 170 – 400 million, increasing steadily to around 7.5 billion people today. If mankind were as old as those who deny our Creator state, than our population would have vast exceeded the ability of the planet to contain us. I’ve read somewhere that the world could contain around 50 billion people, if evolution were true we would have far exceeded that number long, long ago and been likely on our way towards 500 billion people or more.
I remember a debate that I had years ago while working in the dish tank shortly after high school at a busy restaurant. I don’t recall how it was brought up, but this girl I was working with proclaimed that she did not believe in God, but she did believe in demons. I looked at her and made a simple argument: if there are demons then there are angels, if there are demons than there is a devil, if there is a devil than there is a God, if there is a God then there is a Heaven, if there is a Heaven, then there is a Hell and unless you become Saved you are heading straight there. Her mouth was shut.
When I was in high school there was no debate that a person named Jesus actually lived. Even the non-believing teachers would acknowledge that. The problem was that they didn’t believe that Jesus was the Christ, that He was the Son of God who died on the Cross for our sins. The argument is an old one, one that goes all the way back to when Jesus was preaching the Gospel in Israel. Yet the question remains, why did God have His Son Jesus die on the Cross, the answer is so simple. He died for your sins.
“And Jesus and His disciples went out to the towns of Caesarea Philippi; and on the road He asked His disciples, saying to them, Who do men say that I am? So they answered, John the Immerser; but some say, Elijah; and others, one of the prophets. He said to them, But who do you say that I am? Peter answered and said to Him, You are the Christ.” Mark 8:27-29
“And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, And He was numbered with the transgressors. And those who passed by blasphemed Him, wagging their heads and saying, Aha! You who destroy the temple and build it in three days, save Yourself, and come down from the cross! Likewise the chief priests also, mocking among themselves with the scribes, said, He saved others, but He is not able to save Himself. Let the Christ, the King of Israel, descend now from the cross, that we may see and believe. Even those who were crucified with Him reviled Him. And when the sixth hour had come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour. And at the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is translated, My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me? And some of those who stood by, when they heard that, said, Behold, He is calling for Elijah. And someone ran and filled a sponge full of vinegar, put it on a reed, and gave it to Him to drink, saying, Let Him alone; let us see if Elijah will come to take Him down. And Jesus cried out with a loud voice, and breathed His last. And the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. And when the centurion, who stood opposite Him, saw that He cried out like this and breathed His last, he said, Truly this Man was the Son of God!” Mark 15:28-39
“Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was accounted to him, but also for us, to whom it shall be accounted, believing in Him who raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead, who was delivered up because of our trespasses, and was raised for our justification.” Romans 4:23-25
“And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.” 1st John 2:2
The Gospel is that simple, yes you were Created, yes sin entered the world through Adam, yes all are born in sin. Each person, each soul who God has wrought (Psalms 139:15) needs a Savior, the only way to Salvation is through Jesus Christ, there is NO OTHER WAY. Once a person comes to realize that they are lost, that they are on their way to Hell, then as they also believe in God, they must believe in Jesus, the author of our Salvation. Only as they come to the point of godly repentance, knowing that their sinful deeds are worthy of God’s eternal judgment, then realizing the magnitude of the free gift of Salvation through Jesus Christ, they come to Him with not only a repentant heart, but one who believes into Jesus Christ. As soon as that happens they are a new creation, no longer under the same condemnation, but are now children of the Most High in Christ Jesus our Lord.
“Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to every person, because everyone sinned.” Romans 5:12
“For since through man came death, through Man also came the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam everyone dies, even so in Christ everyone shall be made alive.” 1st Corinthians 15:21-22
“for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”… Romans 3:23
“Jesus said to him, I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6
“And having been found perfect, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him”… Hebrews 5:9
“And you being dead in trespasses and sins, in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the ruler of the authority of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all formerly conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others; but God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you are saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenlies in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might display the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you are saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not of works, that no one should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Therefore remember that you, being Gentiles in the flesh; who are called uncircumcision by what is called the circumcision made in the flesh by hands; that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been made near by the blood of Christ. For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the Law of commandments contained in ordinances, that He might create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace, and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity. And He came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near. For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father. Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief corner stone, in whom the whole building, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together into a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.” Ephesians 2
Jesus said, “I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.” Luke 13:3
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” 2nd Corinthians 5:17
How long will you go on believing the lies of the devil? How long before you wake out of the slumber and finally realize just how simple it is? Then when you realize that you are wrong will you continue on refusing to repent and yield to your Creator? The reason that so many people go along with the lies that have been created by men is quite simple, they do not want to change, they want things to remain the way they are. Fine, one can hold to such a viewpoint, but it is wrong and in the end it leads to death, eternity in Hell, without hope.
“You are of the devil as your father, and the lusts of your father you purpose to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own, for he is a liar and the father of it.” John 8:44
“And I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heavens fled away. And there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God. And books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, out of the things which were written in the books. And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one, according to their works. And Death and Hades were cast into the Lake of Fire. This is the second death. And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the Lake of Fire.” Revelation 20:11-15
Why would anyone do that?
