“There is a way which seems right to a man, but the end of it is the ways of death.” Proverbs 14:12 Our society is continuing on a path, a path that is contrary to our Creator, one that is on the broad path (Matthew 7:13), leading to the Lake of Fire (Revelation 20:15). This path have those who have been given some sort of false Gospel message, presenting to them that they are assured to go to Heaven, when true Salvation is absent, as well as an increasing number of people who simply have decided to continue on what seems to be right to them, but the end of it is the ways of death. There is a war going on, this war began with Adam and Eve’s sin in the garden of Eden (Genesis 3) and is near it’s ultimate culmination stage, on that should have anyone who considers such a thing, to REALLY consider their ways, are they part of this deception?! “So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who leads the whole world astray; he was cast out onto the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.” Revelation 12:9 The Bible already tells us the future to what is going to happen and what is happening. “And as it is appointed for men to die once, and after this the judgment, so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, without sin, unto salvation.” Hebrews 9:27-28 For every man and woman, there is a day, there is a time when they are appointed to die. This is something that everyone knows, one day they will die (Ecclesiastes 9:5). Yet does one die with Jesus Christ as their Savior or without? For ultimately that is the question and the answer to that question has eternal consequences. There are many who hear the Gospel message, attend Church, read a Bible tract or the Bible. In fact, I would dare say that most people spend some time praying in their life, whether or not they proclaim to be Saved. Even those who do not proclaim to be a Christian, during hard times, will often appreciate being prayed for. The question is, how many are there who hear these things, realize in their heart that this is something that they should look further into or know that they should repent towards God and by faith believe into Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior (Acts 20:21), but they, for various reasons, simply continue to kick the can down the road? “His lord said to him, Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will appoint you administrator over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.” Matthew 25:21 This is taken from a parable taught by Jesus. For the purpose of this article, we are only going to focus on the precept taught by Jesus to hear the ‘well done’ by being a good and faithful servant, eventually entering into eternal rest with Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. There are a lot of people who have hard lives, some more obvious than others. When we go downtown or to known trouble areas of the city, handing out tracts and Bibles, we witness first hand the very hard lives of those who have obviously been captivated by the devil and are on the broad path to destruction (Matthew 7:13). The other day we were making a round and after speaking to several people, handing out a drink and a snack, we were nearing the end of our resources on hand and heading back. We still had a few more drinks and tracts and decided to cross a street where there was some sort of problem playing out. Unbeknownst to us, a domestic dispute had just occurred. There was a man with his hands up, ready for police intervention, he had just beat his wife, though no police were yet arriving.
