There is only one way to do so. Using God’s Word, the Holy Scriptures, the Bible (Acts 17:11) as our guide, one can get a glimpse into the attitudes and hearts of the people during that time. Knowing that things are going to continue to get worse (2 Tim. 3:13) and in 2023 watching and being ready (Matt. 24:42-44), believing that the time is sooner than later, though not knowing for certain, our societies around the world already appear to be showing us a preview of things to come. In the opening verse from Revelation chapter 9, it has been said that ‘sorceries’ refers to drug use. Of course our societies have become full of searching out witchcraft, things relating to demons, etc., that is certain, but it has also become a place where rampant drug abuse, legalization of drugs and even prescription drugs, some of which have serious mind altering effects, have absolutely exploded with no end in sight. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.” 1st Thessalonians 4:17 Everyone has seen and experienced, whether partly or fully participating in the precautionary measures placed on citizens of their respective countries around the world regarding COVID-19, governmental and medical professionals dictated measures that were both voluntary and involuntary throughout their respective states and areas of authority. Many followed these guidance measures out of fear of contracting the virus and becoming very ill or dying from doing so. To this day, even in South Dakota, there are still a measure of people who continue to follow certain policies, even though they are no longer enforced or in many cases recommended. Late last week I noticed that the forecast had a chance for substantial snowfall in the Black Hills region of South Dakota.
