Frailties

“Nevertheless man, though precious, does not remain; he is like the animals that perish. This way of theirs is their folly; yet those who follow delight in their sayings. Selah.  Like sheep they are appointed to the grave; death shall shepherd them, and the upright shall have the rule over them in the morning; their form is consumed; Sheol is their home.”  Psalms 49:12-14   The situation for many people in Puerto Rico is dire, but as help slowly pours in, it allows us to reflect upon the frailties of mankind.  In a modern day age, one would presume that the seemingly all powerful governments, particularly the United States government, would be most able to provide swift and abundant aid to a natural disaster in one of our held territories.  While aid is certainly pouring in, the amount of destruction that hurricane Maria caused makes this task a slow and for some a deadly game of trying to wait for help to arrive.   When the infrastructure of an area is all but destroyed, roads are washed away and people are left in areas that are no longer accessible by road, far from the major cities, the truth of the matter becomes known to those who experience such disasters first hand.  Mankind is not able to immediately offer assistance to those who are in need, yet cutoff from the rest of the world.  People begin dying, the suffering for some surpasses what their families have seen throughout many generations.  The frailties of our manmade systems of electricity, food, water, cellular and phone service, roads and medical care become exposed. ...

Willfully Ignorant

“This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the emptiness of their mind, having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardness of their heart; who, being past feeling, have given themselves over to licentiousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.”  Ephesians 4:17-19   There are some who like to use the term ‘entertained to death’ and there is truth to such a notion.  All around the world, not just in the United States, there are large problems that have formed.  The cracks of our world governmental systems are starting to show their weaknesses, the ugly truth is starting to rear it’s head.  In America we have a society where information is at our fingertips.    Never before in the history of the world has the access to knowledge been so readily available to the average citizen.  While there are still the things that go on in backrooms of corporations and our governments, that have yet to seen the light of day, we can easily see the writing on the wall that not all is well.  The assumption for most is that somehow our ails of our societies will fix these issues eventually.  Yet, do we not consider that the only person who might offer the ultimate solution would be the Antichrist?   Hour after hour Americans sideswipe their responsibility as citizens to ensure the government is adhering to its constitutional boundaries.  Day after day many around the world in civilized...

Is it Finally the End?

Numerous news reports about the devastating fires in California had quotes from first hand accounts of people involved who thought that perhaps the end had come or that Armageddon was ongoing.  There were people who took photos that made their rounds across the globe in the media regarding how California’s Disneyland looked liked a scene from Hell.   There were those who were thinking and saying the same thing when Harvey hit Texas, when Irma hit tropical islands, etc.  They thought perhaps the end was upon them, as devastation appeared on all sides around them, as far as they could see.  In one case there were people begging for God to make the rain stop from Harvey, as the nonstop rain became the biggest rain event in the continental United States recorded history.    All of these terrible disasters the United States has been experiencing are just a drop in the bucket of similar events that have been taking place around the world.  Unfortunately many in America hold an attitude of such self worth that they care little about floods in Asia or terrifying events in India.  A point-in-case would be an attitude regarding a potential North Korean & United States war, where the talking point of many is sacrificing Seoul in South Korea is better than it coming to our homeland.  In other words, millions dying ‘over there’ is a small price to pay.    Our country is being destroyed slowly by disasters that are costing tens of billions of dollars in damage EACH.  While we have the advantage of holding the world reserve currency that is backed...

Psalms Walk-Thru #02

Who is the man whom God will have regard towards?  Those who truly follow the Lord and whose heart’s delight is in following Him. (Ps. 1:1-3)    “For Jehovah knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked shall perish.”  Psalms 1:6   When one diligently considers the things of God, truly is a Believer and seeks to follow the Lord with all of their heart, then that individual can be confident that their footsteps are guarded, according to His will.  (Psalms 37:24)   Where are those who are doing as the Lord pleases?  The world continues to promote evil, walking contrary to their Creator.  Yet the Lord knows those who are His (2 Tim. 2:9) and He delights in those who do His will.  (Ps. 147:11)   I’ve considered that we now live in a time where there are only a few (Mt. 7:14) who are truly doing as they should.  I’ve pondered whether or not there will be a great repentance of our nation or another nation around the world.  Will America repent?  Will a different country?  Why are there so few who seem to truly follow after God?  Why are the churches that are pleasing to Him, far and few in between?  Why has man forsaken the Way (Jn. 14:6) and turned aside to lies?  They desire to have it that way!   “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own lusts, desiring to hear pleasant things, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth,...

What about the unanswered questions about healthcare insurance?

Healthcare is something that is important to most Americans.  The younger generation often will ignore purchasing health insurance, with the assumption that they don’t need it, usually they are correct.  However for many families and individuals throughout America, there is a growing concern regarding the future of the health care system in the United States.  All the time healthcare is in the news, as Americans watch in horror as their elected officials seem to be unable to permanently solve the problem.   Both sides of the political spectrum has opinions on how to solve the crisis, yet there is not enough support on any one side to actually seem to provide a long term solution.  What is the problem?  Namely cost.   The affordable healthcare that was touted years ago has become unaffordable.  In fact the premiums were rising, as well as the deductibles even before Obamacare passed.  Yet no one asked why.  Constantly it was simply a solution presented by political parties in the United States to restructure the health insurance, supposedly in order to keep the cost down and provide health insurance, through mandates, to everyone in the United States.  What happened?  The prices continued to skyrocket, some citizens were left with no health insurance choice -at all- in their health exchanges, as well as masses of people simply didn’t comply with the mandate.  On top of that employers reduced those who were already near poverty to even worse by reducing their hours to 28 or fewer, in order to not have to comply with the employer mandate.  Now the debate rages on in Congress on just...
