The Curse

“Behold, Jehovah empties the earth and makes it bare, and distorts its face, and scatters its inhabitants.  And as it is with the people, so it shall be with the priest; as with the servant, so with the master; as with the maid, so it is with her mistress; as with the buyer, so with the seller; as with the lender, so with the borrower; as with the creditor, so with the debtor.  The land shall be completely emptied, and utterly plundered; for Jehovah has spoken this Word.  The earth mourns and fades away; the world droops and fades away; the haughty people of the earth grow feeble.  The earth is also defiled under its inhabitants; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, and have broken the perpetual covenant.  Therefore the curse has devoured the earth, and those who dwell in it are held guilty; therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men are left. The new wine mourns, the vine droops, all the merry-hearted sigh.  The mirth of the tambourines ceases; the tumult of the jubilant ends; the joy of the harp ceases.  They shall not drink wine with a song; strong drink is bitter to those who drink it.  The city of emptiness is broken down; every house is shut up so that no one may come in.  There is a cry for wine in the streets; all joy is darkened, the mirth of the land has gone.  Desolation is left in the city, and the gate is battered and destroyed.  For so it is in the midst of the land among...

Smoking or Non-Smoking?

“So I said, Who are You, Sir? And He said, I am Jesus, whom you persecute.  But arise and stand on your feet; for I have appeared to you for this purpose, to appoint you a minister and a witness both of the things which you have seen and of the things in which I will appear to you.  I will deliver you from the Jewish people, as well as from the Gentiles, to whom I now send you, to open their eyes, to turn them from darkness to light, and from the authority of Satan to God, that they may receive remission of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.”  Acts 26:15-18   “There is a way which seems right to a man, but the end of it is the ways of death.”  Proverbs 14:12   “And many of those sleeping in the earth’s dust shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to reproach and everlasting abhorrence.”  Daniel 12:2   Recently an article published called The Back of the Bus went over the segregation of those who are vaccinated or not.  It seems good for me to once again touch on this topic, as it is a relevant object lesson regarding individuals and their eternity.    Without searching out such things, I found a couple of news items that pushed this vaccine segregation even further than I would have imagined would have happened.  The first was from my current home state, Michigan, where it was double-downed that vaccinated people do not have to wear masks in the workplace.    While this...

The Back of the Bus

“Then Paul stood in the midst of the Areopagus and said, Men of Athens, I perceive that in all things you fear the gods; for as I was passing through and considering the objects of your devotion, I even found an altar with this inscription: TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Therefore, the One to whom you show reverence without knowing, Him I proclaim to you: God, who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of Heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands.  Nor is He served with men’s hands, as though He needed anything, since He gives to all life, breath, and all things.  And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell everywhere on the face of the earth, and has determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings, so that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us; for in Him we live and move and exist, as also some of your own poets have said, For we are also His offspring.  Therefore, since we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Divine is like gold or silver or stone, something engraved by art and man’s devising.  Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent, because He has established a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has appointed. He has given assurance of this...

Awake Unto Righteousness

“Awake to righteousness, and do not sin; for some do not have the knowledge of God. I speak to your shame.”  1st Corinthians 15:34   There is a term that goes around nowadays called ‘woke’.  Everything is being questioned and supposedly new ideas are being interjected into the ‘old way of thinking’.  For instance, the other day I read a brief article describing how some believe that automatic soap dispensers are a cause of systemic racism.  Why?   Well apparently they do not ‘see’ the hands of those with darker colored pigment skin, as well as from another, forces ‘black and brown bodies’ to show their palms.  While this might be an extreme example (after all isn’t all of it extreme anyway), nonetheless it is quite simple that these automatic soap dispensers sense anyone’s hands, man or woman, black or white, make’s no difference whatsoever.  So it is a baseless claim, but nonetheless shows the characteristics of how anything that can garner any amount of ‘sense’ by such people who are looking for evidence of supposed wrongdoing can pretty much find such ‘evidence’ anywhere.   Things have been getting worse and worse in the United States, as well as around the world, for quite some time.  This is not something that has just happened overnight, but has been ongoing for numerous decades.  However, in the past several years there has really been a ramping up of trying to ignore God’s clear Word regarding certain things in regards to man’s opinion.  One can not scoff at God or His Word.   “Do not be led astray, God is not mocked;...

Do They Know?

“Come now, you rich, weep and howl for your calamities that are coming upon you.  Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are moth-eaten.  Your gold and silver are corroded, and their corrosion will be a witness against you and will eat your flesh like fire. You have heaped up treasure in the last days.  Indeed the wages of the laborers who reaped your fields, which you kept back by fraud, cry out; and the cries of the reapers have reached the ears of the Lord of Hosts.  You have lived on the earth in pleasure and luxury; you have fattened your hearts as in a day of slaughter.  You have condemned, you have murdered the just; he does not resist you.  Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain.  You also be patient. Make your hearts firm, for the coming of the Lord draws near.  Do not grumble against one another, brethren, that you not be condemned. Behold, the Judge stands at the door.”  Jacob (James) 5:1-9   “After these things I looked, and behold, a door having been opened in Heaven. And the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying, Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after these things.”  Revelation 4:1   Things are quite strange, they have been and it appears that they will continue that way.  Originally when a pandemic was first declared the grocery store...

Going Up

“Who knows the spirit of man that goes upward, and the spirit of the beast that goes downward to the earth?”  Ecclesiastes 3:21   “For affliction does not come forth from the dust, nor does trouble spring up out of the ground; yet man is born to trouble, as the sparks fly upward.”  Job 5:6-7   “And when He opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, Come and see. So I looked, and behold, a black horse, and he who sat on it had a pair of scales in his hand.  And I heard a voice in the midst of the four living creatures saying, A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; and do not harm the oil and the wine.”  Revelation 6:5-6   “For the kingdom of Heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire laborers for his vineyard.  And when he had agreed with the laborers for a denarius a day, he sent them into his vineyard.  And he went out about the third hour and saw others standing idle in the marketplace, and said to them, You also go into the vineyard, and whatever is right I will give you. So they went.  Again he went out about the sixth and the ninth hour, and did likewise.  And about the eleventh hour he went out and found others standing idle, and said to them, Why do you stand here idle all day?  They said to him, Because no one hired us. He said to them, You also go...
