Where have all of the preachers gone?

“I say then, has God cast away His people? Let it not be! For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.  God has not cast away His people whom He foreknew. Or do you not know what the Scripture says of Elijah, how he pleads with God against Israel, saying,  Lord, they have killed Your prophets and torn down Your altars, and I alone am left, and they seek my life.  But what does the Divine response say to him? I have reserved to Myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal.  Even so then, at this present time there is a remnant according to the election of grace.”  Romans 11:1-5   Certainly there are still preachers who are faithfully doing the work of the Lord throughout the world.  Yet it wasn’t that long ago that in America we had some preachers whom were used by God to proclaim His truth to many, many people across our once great land.  Billy Sunday comes to mind immediately.   Less than a hundred years ago Billy Sunday was preaching to crowds from coast to coast.  It is said that he preached to over a 100 million people directly during the ministry that God had given him to do.  While he was one of the most outspoken opponents of alcohol, he also preached against playing cards, dance halls, theatres and immoral reading material.  Billy Sunday did not shy away from telling the truth about God, proclaiming His truth regarding Creation, a literal devil, a literal Hell and also the Gospel,...

Lights Out?

“Seek Jehovah while He may be found; call upon Him while He is near.  Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; and let him return to Jehovah, and He will have mercy on him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.”  Isaiah 55:6-7   In Montana, Kalispell is one of the big cities, but in the scope of the nation, it is but a small quiet town.  Having lived in Orlando, Phoenix, Chicago and even a bit of time in Toledo, there is no comparison.  Driving the other night between two small Montana towns, the realization of the scope of potential trouble on the horizon, thinking of how America is so backslidden before God, my spirit was deeply troubled.   Imagine for a moment, if you will, your respective city.  Whether it be a small town on the plains of America, a big hustling urban center of a major city, a medium sized city or even the rural countryside, miles away from the nearest gas station, if the lights went out.  As we were driving between the small city of Kalispell to the very small town of Bigfork, the glistening lights of rural houses and the glimmering of communities approaching against the black night sky was a reminder that we were surrounded by people, who were getting ready for bed in the late evening. What if as we were driving suddenly and without warning all of the lights went out?    What if the dark black sky of night soon became even darker and our headlights on our car became more powerful...

Proud to Defy God?

Let’s not let the media ‘tell’ us what to think and do, rather each American should turn to the Bible for knowledge of God and His standards.  Yet if those who continue to push such propaganda, which is contrary to their Creator and the people continue to buy into the lies, then what will happen?  Should celebrations be held by those who are proud to defy God?   “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge… As they were increased, so they sinned against Me. I will change their glory into shame.  They eat up the sin of My people, and they set their appetites on their iniquity.  And it shall be: Like people, like priest. And I will visit their ways upon them and repay them for their deeds.  For they shall eat and not have enough. They shall commit fornication and not bring forth, because they have ceased to take heed to Jehovah.  Harlotry and wine and new wine snatch away the heart.  My people seek advice from their wooden idols, and their magic wand expounds to them. For the spirit of harlotry has led them astray, and they have committed adultery against their God.”  Hosea 4:6a, 7-12   Though they may laugh, cheer and celebrate their blasphemous agendas, eventually such wickedness will turn into weeping and gnashing of teeth.  Let each man be assured that God Almighty, the One to whom ALL will stand (Rev. 20:12) before, certainly does take notice.   “And in that day Jehovah of Hosts called for weeping and mourning, and for baldness, and for girding with sackcloth.  But behold, joy and...

Christians – Get Up!

Recently I had an exchange with the person who does the translating work for the Spanish language section of All Will Stand.  In that exchange they made mention of “what more can I do”, the same thing is on my heart regarding the work of the Lord.  Many Believers around the world have the same feeling that the “time is at hand” (Rev. 22:10) and the world doesn’t have much time left.  Truly we can’t know how much time we have left (Matt. 24:36), but we also must not slacken our work that Jesus has called us to do as Christians (Matt. 28:19-20).   A radio show regarding this topic will be up online soon, but the issue really is pressing.  Just how often do we as “citizens of Heaven” (Phil. 3:20), forget just how important the task is that is presented before us.    Not everyone is called to preach, not everyone is called to be a pastor of a church or a Sunday school teacher, etc., but often times just by our communication, we can have an effect on those who are lost and dying.    “In this regard, they think it strange that you do not run with them in the same overflow of dissipation, blaspheming.  They will give an account to Him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.”  1st Peter 4:4-5   We know that the apostasy (2 Tim. 4:3) that we are seeing was foretold prophetically, we see the evil fruits of this terrible thing throughout the world.  In fact it will not get better, but only worse (2 Tim. 3:13)...

Frailties

“Nevertheless man, though precious, does not remain; he is like the animals that perish. This way of theirs is their folly; yet those who follow delight in their sayings. Selah.  Like sheep they are appointed to the grave; death shall shepherd them, and the upright shall have the rule over them in the morning; their form is consumed; Sheol is their home.”  Psalms 49:12-14   The situation for many people in Puerto Rico is dire, but as help slowly pours in, it allows us to reflect upon the frailties of mankind.  In a modern day age, one would presume that the seemingly all powerful governments, particularly the United States government, would be most able to provide swift and abundant aid to a natural disaster in one of our held territories.  While aid is certainly pouring in, the amount of destruction that hurricane Maria caused makes this task a slow and for some a deadly game of trying to wait for help to arrive.   When the infrastructure of an area is all but destroyed, roads are washed away and people are left in areas that are no longer accessible by road, far from the major cities, the truth of the matter becomes known to those who experience such disasters first hand.  Mankind is not able to immediately offer assistance to those who are in need, yet cutoff from the rest of the world.  People begin dying, the suffering for some surpasses what their families have seen throughout many generations.  The frailties of our manmade systems of electricity, food, water, cellular and phone service, roads and medical care become exposed. ...

Willfully Ignorant

“This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the emptiness of their mind, having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardness of their heart; who, being past feeling, have given themselves over to licentiousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.”  Ephesians 4:17-19   There are some who like to use the term ‘entertained to death’ and there is truth to such a notion.  All around the world, not just in the United States, there are large problems that have formed.  The cracks of our world governmental systems are starting to show their weaknesses, the ugly truth is starting to rear it’s head.  In America we have a society where information is at our fingertips.    Never before in the history of the world has the access to knowledge been so readily available to the average citizen.  While there are still the things that go on in backrooms of corporations and our governments, that have yet to seen the light of day, we can easily see the writing on the wall that not all is well.  The assumption for most is that somehow our ails of our societies will fix these issues eventually.  Yet, do we not consider that the only person who might offer the ultimate solution would be the Antichrist?   Hour after hour Americans sideswipe their responsibility as citizens to ensure the government is adhering to its constitutional boundaries.  Day after day many around the world in civilized...
