One Chance

“And I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heavens fled away. And there was found no place for them.  And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God. And books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, out of the things which were written in the books.  And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one, according to their works.  And Death and Hades were cast into the Lake of Fire. This is the second death.  And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the Lake of Fire.”  Revelation 20:11-15   Here another Easter Sunday goes by, today I’m going to skip going over the pagan origins of the name Easter.  Today I am going to skip incorporating the Easter Bunny and Easter egg hunts into your church service.  Today I am going to skip the rock concert going on in the bigger, more modern churches.  For once I am going to remain silent about all of the programs that you use to get people into your church.  Today I’m going about how your service was in the eyes of the Most High.   You finally did it, you know, they come on Easter Sunday.  In droves, families will pack churches all around in the United States.  Faces that you only see once per year...

Word by Word

“To whom shall He teach knowledge? And whom shall He make to understand the message? Those weaned from the milk and removed from the breasts.  For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, there a little”…  Isaiah 28:9-10   We live in a world, where word by word things are being changed.  Mass deceptions, as defined as words that are contrary to the Holy Scriptures, are being placed as snares upon the whole world, word by word.  This tactic has been deployed on unsuspecting masses for quite a time.  The purpose of this article is to make people, including Believers, aware of such tactics, not to actually break down the principals of how the deception works.    Truly there is an easy way to overcome these deceptions.  For Christians, for those who have truly repented and by faith believed into Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, simply believe God, believe His Word, believe what he says and anything that is contrary to what our Creator has declared, then we can easily see through the deception.  Really it is that simple.   “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.  Put on all the armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.  For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against rulers, against authorities, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual wickedness in the heavenlies.  Therefore take up all the armor of God, that you may be...

Slothful

“Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth.”  2nd Timothy 2:15   The other day there was a knock on the door.  At the door was someone who is from the Jehovah Witnesses.  With information in hand they were trying to get me to attend their meeting.  After our brief conversation, at which I let them know that I was not interested at all and that were neither of Jehovah or a witness to the Truth, they made their way to the neighbors home.    Two by two members of both the Jehovah Witnesses and Mormons go out into the world with their false doctrine, propagating their lies.  Though one would understand that indeed those knocking on doors are also deceived, their diligence is something to be commended, if only they were really doing the work of Christ in spreading the Gospel message.    In times past I have had tracts left by what would be considered conservative Independent Fundamental Baptist churches.  While the tract would be a breath of fresh air in comparison to some of the bizarre and unbiblical teachings left by others, it too fell short of the full Gospel message.  Even then repentance was not mentioned and nearly all tracts that I have run across, except on a rare occasion, include a sinner’s prayer for one to repeat, also absent of repentance.  In most cases if someone repeated those words they are instructed to call or write and let the church that handed out the tract know that they are...

They Believe Others

“I have come in My Father’s name, and you do not receive Me. If another comes in his own name, him you will receive.”  John 5:43   Certainly we know this to be a prophetic statement.  Truly there will come a time where the Antichrist will arise and lead the world astray (Rev. 13:14).  Pretending to be God (2 Thes. 2:4), he will become both the political and religious leader of the world (Rev. 13:3).  During that time, the “time of Jacob’s trouble” (Jer. 30:7), better known as the Great Tribulation, many will be deceived.  That is a time like no other and Jesus warned about such a time.    “For then there will be great affliction, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be.  And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be kept safe alive; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened.  Then if anyone says to you, Look, here is the Christ; or, There; do not believe it.  For false christs and false prophets will arise and show great signs and wonders to lead astray, if possible, even the elect.  Behold, I have told you beforehand.”  Matthew 24:21-25   Yet we have seen precursors in many ways since Jesus went to sit at the Father’s right hand (Mk. 16:19).  Already the mass majority believe others, instead of believing Jesus Christ, the author and finisher of our faith.   “Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin...

Knowledge Shall Be Increased

“And at that time, Michael shall stand up, the great ruler who stands for the sons of your people. And there shall be a time of distress, such as has not been since there was a nation until that time. And at that time, your people shall be delivered, everyone that shall be found written in the Book.  And many of those sleeping in the earth’s dust shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to reproach and everlasting abhorrence.  And the prudent shall shine as the brightness of the firmament, and those who turn many to righteousness, as the stars forever and ever.  But you, O Daniel, shut up the words and seal the book, to the time of the end. Many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.”  Daniel 12:1-4   It is apparent that knowledge has been increased.  As I write this article, just over a month shy of 40 years old, I have seen numerous changes in my lifetime.    This article is typed using software that will alert me to misspelled words, it’s older software that I choose to use.  Then I will take this article and I will post it up on the world wide web, a term that is barely used outside of geek squads nowadays.  This will be posted on a website that was designed using software, hosted on a computer overseas.  Afterwards the link to the article will make its way to three separate social media websites, finally it will be emailed to those who have subscribed to have these articles emailed to them.  Then, as is...

Threats

“And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.  For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places.  All these are the beginning of travail.”  Matthew 24:6-8   Oh for the days of before where there wasn’t so many supposed threats against our nation, both from inside and outside influences!  This country has suffered from threats before.    We had the threat of a nuclear war during the Cold War with the Soviet Union.  There the government increased the paranoia of the situation by telling people to duct tapes windows and school children to go underneath school desks.  The horror was fully felt as Barry Goldwater apparently lost the presidential election after the influence of a commercial of a girl picking flower pedals as a mushroom cloud appears.  We also had the oil crisis that caused a lot of strife, panic and problems for Americans from coast to coast.    There was a long period of threats from the outside world having disappeared during the 80’s, 90’s and 2000’s.  During that time the perceived threat rhetoric was changed from that of an outside threat to an interior threat.  The nation took the bait hook, line and sinker, while those who were in the know began ringing the alarm bells.  The threat had become an interior one.    Americans allowed wars to continue on around the globe, without any concern of the validity of such actions.  With...

Place of Torment

“But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, prostitutes, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”  Revelation 21:8   Personal responsibility is a concept that is disappearing quickly.  Nowadays there are people who look towards others to bail them out of troubles that oftentimes they have gotten themselves into.  Whether it is trouble with the law, troubles with finances or a host of other issues.   In all reality men and women, by and large, need to have the personal responsibility, when they are capable, to provide for their own families and obey the laws of the land.  Failure to do so results in consequences.  Likewise, preachers also have a responsibility to God to preach His truth regarding the condition of man, Salvation and declaring what God says about the ultimate destiny of mankind and their personal responsibility regarding their sin.    “There was a certain rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen and fared sumptuously every day.  And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, full of sores, who was laid at his gate,  desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table. Moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.  So it happened that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom. The rich man also died and was buried.  And being in torments in Hades, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.  Then he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on...

Set In Order

“Then the kingdom of Heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.  And five of them were wise, and five foolish.  Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them,  but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.  But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all nodded and fell asleep.  And at midnight there was a cry: Behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him!  Then all those virgins arose and prepared their lamps.  And the foolish said to the wise, Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.  But the wise answered, saying, No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.  And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding feast; and the door was shut.  Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us!  But he answered and said, Truly, I say to you, I do not know you.  Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man comes.”  Matthew 25:1-13   When king Hezekiah was going to die, the prophet Isaiah told him to set his house in order.   “In those days Hezekiah had become sick unto death. And Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, came to him and said to him, Thus says Jehovah: Set your house in order, for you are dying,...

Uncertainty

“If we receive the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater; for this is the testimony of God which He has witnessed about His Son.  He who believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself; he who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God has given concerning His Son.  And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.  He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.  These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.”  1st John 5:9-13   Certainly there is a certain amount of prudence in keeping up with the news.  For myself there is a limit, as there is no end to the amount of information that is readily available in print and online (Ecc. 12:12).  One thing seemingly prevails from time to time and that is the amount of uncertainty regarding events that are taking place in the United States and throughout the entire world.  Quite simply, these words often come to mind.   “And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.  For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And...

In A Moment

“The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved.”  Jeremiah 8:20   Driving home from the sleepy town of Bigfork, Montana the other night, my family and I were listening to a CD.  Suddenly the CD went silent then resumed.  Ahead the should be yellow flashing caution traffic light had went out, the CD went silent again, once again resuming.  As we turned on the highway heading towards Kalispell, I looked just to make sure the glow of lights from Kalispell was still apparent in the distance, presumably the CD probably has a scratch or a fingerprint on it.    Heading down the highway I began to contemplate the reality of the world we live in.  The uncertainty of a normal tomorrow, the unknown lying ahead.  As a Christian, I know that if the Rapture occurs I will meet Lord in the air, along with my wife and son.  Yet the troublesome times that we live in often has my thoughts comprehending the possibility of disaster striking the United States before that awesome Day.   “But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who are asleep, that you sorrow not as others who have no hope.  For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus.  For this we say to you by the Word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep.  For the Lord Himself will descend from Heaven with...

Warn Them!

“I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.”  Luke 13:3   I want to take a moment to stress the importance of Biblical Salvation, which all Believers know.  Biblical salvation is repentance and by faith believing into Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.  So true Believers, true Christians, those who have repented and believed into Jesus have their names written in the Book of Life (Rev. 20:15).   We know that Christ died for all.   “For the love of Christ holds us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died; and He died for all, that those who live should no longer live unto themselves, but unto Him who died for them and rose again.”  1st Corinthians 5:14-15   We know that God wishes that none would perish.   “The Lord is not slow concerning His promise, as some count slowness, but is longsuffering toward us, not purposing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.”  2nd Peter 3:9   “Do I delight with pleasure in the death of the wicked? says the Lord Jehovah, and not that he should turn back from his ways and live?”  Ezekiel 18:23   Consider Christ, He gave His life so that we may have life in Him.   “In this the love of God was revealed in us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.  In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for...

Psalms Walk-Thru Final

“Although you say you do not see Him, yet the case is before Him, and you must wait for Him.”  Job 35:14   We have spent some time going over the book of Psalms.  As mentioned before, a lot of people look at Psalms as the book of faith.  Yet Psalms is much more, it is about having a contrite and perfect heart before our Creator.   Psalms declares the wondrous works of God, tells us much about who He is!  Psalms provides history, Psalms provides examples and presents the truth about trusting in God.  Psalms is much more than just faith.   “As for the Mighty God, His way is perfect; the Word of Jehovah is tested; He is a shield to all those who trust in Him.  For who is God besides Jehovah? Or, who is a Rock except our God?”  Psalms 18:30-31   “The heavens declare the glory of the Mighty God; and the firmament proclaims His handiwork.”  Psalms 19:1   “Jehovah is my strength and my shield; my heart has trusted in Him, and I have been helped; therefore my heart greatly rejoices, and with my song I will praise Him.”  Psalms 28:7   “He shall not be afraid of evil tidings; his heart is steadfast, trusting in Jehovah.  His heart is secure; he will not be afraid, though he sees his adversary.”  Psalms 112:7-8   As has been mentioned before and will be mentioned again, one final time, we must trust and obey.  Furthermore, in order to have all of the promises that God gives to those who have repented and by faith believed...

Sell Your Possessions

“And behold, one came and said to Him, Good Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may have eternal life?  So He said to him, Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.  He said to Him, Which? Jesus said, You shall not murder, You shall not commit adultery, You shall not steal, You shall not bear false witness,  Honor your father and your mother, and, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.  The young man said to Him, All these things I have kept from my youth. What do I still lack?  Jesus said to him, If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in Heaven; and come, follow Me.  But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful, for he had many possessions.”  Matthew 19:16-22   What can we say that we have done for Christ?   What have we given up for the sake of whom who died on the Cross for our sins, who rose again from the dead, who sits at the right hand of God, the Son of God, Jesus, who is the author and finisher of our Salvation?   “Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so persistently harasses us, and let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of...

Psalms Walk-Thru #014

“Jehovah is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? Jehovah is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?”  Psalms 27:1   Think about this verse for a moment and the truths that are contained therein.  What a marvelous statement about a true Christian’s relationship with their Creator, through Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.  Such a relationship is only for those who have repented and by faith believed into Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, having had their name written in the Book of Life (Rev. 20:11-15).    There have been many missionaries throughout the years who have understood these words.  They have traversed jungles to bring the Gospel to those in the ends of the earth.  They have been in foreign lands, where they are not welcomed.  They have prevailed, because Jehovah was their strength, because they trusted in their Creator and feared not man.   “And do not fear those who kill the body but are not able to kill the soul. But rather fear Him who has power to destroy both soul and body in Gehenna.”  Matthew 10:28   Understand, those who trust in the Lord, those who are true Christians, these words ring very true.    “When the wicked, my enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat my flesh, they stumbled and fell.  Though an army should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war should rise against me, in this I have confidence.”  Psalms 27:2-3   Of what importance is it, irregardless of what appears to be the odds against one who...

Don’t Wait

“He who is unjust, let him be unjust still; he who is filthy, let him be filthy still; he who is righteous, let him be righteous still; he who is holy, let him be holy still.”  Revelation 22:11   The recent false missile alert in Hawaii certainly delivered fear to those who are living there.  All over and for good reason, people were panicking, crying, screaming, trying to figure out what to do.  After all what can one do?   From what I have heard, the traffic in Honolulu is terrible.  Imagine being stuck in traffic, getting an alert that there is an incoming ballistic missile and there is no where to go.  You are literally at ground zero, stuck.  Fortunately I haven’t heard any reports of injuries or deaths regarding this false alert.  From my understanding there were some who were driving very erratically, trying to get home to there loved ones, disregarding all traffic laws.   There is also a video of a family lowering their children in the sewer drain, as a place for them to go.  Truly that is an interesting take on a bomb shelter, one that would make one ponder if it would actually be effective or not.  There is also a popular video out there showing university students running to take cover.  Of course there are numerous more videos of people’s last words, even one man who just continued to play golf.   However, one reaction, one article truly got my attention.  A woman in the midst of the chaos prayed to God and asked for forgiveness of her sins, as well...
